I have always loved any form of embroidery.

Creative hand embroidery of all kinds is exciting. Experimenting with different techniques is so much fun, these have included gold work and crewel work.
I then went on to free machine embroidery on the sewing machine. I couldn’t believe what amazing results you could get with the machine. Using the machine needle as a pen/pencil to draw with is incredible and I found my real passion.

I use calico as a background to work on and create colourful pictorial work. I also like using water-soluble fabric as a background. With water-soluble you can produce individual pieces that you can put together to create a 3D effect.

Although thread painting on calico or water-soluble is probably my favourite technique, I also enjoy mixed media work, book making and having fun with Altered books
