My inspiration comes from the world around me. I believe there is beauty to be found in everything. Sometimes we just need to change our perspective or look a little deeper.
As a child I wanted to be a jeweller but wasn’t encouraged . I compromised, went to Bishop Otter College, where I did Art as my main subject for a B Ed. Sculpture was my main discipline, painting second. I first worked in silver at evening classes
I completed City and Guilds in Jewellery and Design at Northbrook College. I completed the Foundation Diploma in Art and Design at West Dean College, and Stone Setting at the Cornwall School of Jewellery.
I have participated in Art Trails along the South Coast and completed commissions in both jewellery and painting. I run 2 art groups; plein-air sketching at Hotham Park and a U3A Art Group. I believe, if you can hold a pencil and make a mark, you can make art. My painting style varies from highly representational to abstract expressive, working in many different media.
I am registered with The London Assay Office and The Association for Contemporary Jewellery (ACJ).
